APC Retains Three Incumbent Senators as Zamfara Flagbearers for 2027

The All Progressives Congress has confirmed Senators Abdulaziz Yari, Ikra Bilbis and Sahabi Ya’u as its flagbearers in Zamfara’s West, Central and North districts for the 2027 polls. The party’s primary committee chair, Prof. Ishaq Bala, announced that Bilbis won Zamfara Central with 127,686 votes out of 136,419 cast. Yari secured Zamfara West with 125,235 out of 125,311 votes, while Ya’u topped Zamfara North with 65,642 votes in a contest held on May 19. Bala described the primaries as transparent and peaceful, with no reports of violence. Aggrieved aspirants have until May 28 to submit appeals. He thanked party members, the media and the state government for their support and reaffirmed APC’s commitment to internal democracy.
