2027 Battle: Uyo Leaders Unite to Demand Ibesikpo Asutan’s Turn in the House of Reps
Stakeholders from all four LGAs in Uyo Federal Constituency have warned that denying Ibesikpo Asutan the 2027 House of Representatives ticket would breach the zoning agreement that has sustained peace. They made this clear during the birthday celebration of Obong Usen Edet Matthew in Ifa, Etoi Clan, Uyo. Speakers such as Hon. Joshua Basil and Hon. Nazareth Udoh argued that Nsit Atai has already served two terms and should honour the rotation by stepping aside. They recalled Ibesikpo Asutan’s historic contributions and cited 2023 election results that showed stronger support for their LGA. Obong Anietie Udoeyop appealed to the Governor to uphold fairness and prevent any disruption of harmony. The gathering featured prayers, goodwill messages, and unified calls to protect the zoning formula ahead of the 2027 contest.
