Kaduna Attack Survivor Says Father Refused to Flee Before Gunmen Killed Him

Survivors of a terrorist attack on Naridon village in Kauru LGA, Kaduna State, have described the trauma of losing relatives and homes after armed attackers reportedly killed 30 people, including five siblings from one family. The attackers reportedly invaded the community in the early hours of Monday, firing at residents, burning houses and looting food items. Many villagers fled into nearby bushes, while others escaped to neighbouring communities. A survivor, Auta Danladi, said he pleaded with his parents to flee but they refused. His father and uncle were later killed. Residents believe the attack may be linked to the recent killing of a herder whose body was allegedly abandoned in the community, though they insist they had no involvement. The survivors have appealed to the government and security agencies for lasting protection, justice and action against recurring attacks in the area.
