Why a Personal Relationship with Jesus Alone Won’t Guarantee Salvation

Having a relationship with Jesus is important. But the Gospel truth is that simply knowing Him may not be enough to keep us from hell. Jesus warned in Luke 13:25–27 that many who call Him “Lord” and share meals with Him can still be turned away if they live in ongoing sin. Even those closest to Him, like Judas Iscariot, fell by refusing to repent of their iniquity. True salvation calls for more than titles and rituals. We must obey Christ’s Word, repent, and forsake sinful habits if we want His promise to stand on judgment day. Let us examine our hearts and live in genuine obedience. I pray we all heed this warning and remain in Christ’s grace.
