Soldiers Storm Terrorist Camp in Anka, Zamfara and Rescue Five Kidnap Victims
Troops from Sector 2 of Operation FANSAN YAMMA raided a makeshift terrorist camp in Tungan Kudaduku, Anka Local Government Area of Zamfara State. Intelligence had indicated armed terrorists on 10 motorcycles moving into the area. On contact, soldiers engaged the fleeing terrorists in a fierce gun battle. The assailants abandoned their camp and retreated into the surrounding bush. A sweep of the site uncovered five kidnapped victims, who were rescued unharmed. The operatives have handed the victims to the appropriate authorities for care. Troops remain deployed in the general area to deny terrorists freedom of action and sustain pressure on criminal elements.
