Real Madrid has been named the world’s most valuable football club in Forbes’ annual ranking, valued at $9.5bn — up from $6.75bn last year. Barcelona moves into second place at $7.5bn, overtaking Manchester United, which ranks third at $7.2bn. The Premier League dominates the list with six clubs in the top 10 and 11 in the top 30. Liverpool, Manchester City, Bayern Munich and Paris St-Germain also feature among the most valuable teams. On average, the top 30 clubs are worth $2.9bn, marking a 21% increase year on year. Arsenal’s recent Premier League title win could see its ranking rise when next year’s list is released.
