Ayamelum Celebrates New Road, School and Secretariat Upgrades Commissioned by Mayor Ofumelu

Ayamelum Local Government marked a milestone as Mayor Alphonsus Ofumelu commissioned several key projects, reflecting Governor Soludo’s grassroots Solution Agenda. The event unveiled solar-powered streetlights and CCTV at the secretariat, a renovated five-classroom block and modern science lab at Community Secondary School Igbakwu, the 1.5km Omor-Umuerum Road, and upgraded legislative and administrative buildings with extensive landscaping. The new Omor-Umuerum Road now reduces travel time to under ten minutes and enhances regional connectivity between Onitsha, Enugu and Awka. The upgraded science lab restores hands-on learning opportunities, while the modern secretariat boosts security and efficiency in governance. Mayor Ofumelu expressed gratitude to the state government for its support and called on future administrations to maintain the development pace. Community and political leaders hailed the projects as transformative investments in education, transport, security and public administration.
