Konaté Nearing Free Transfer to Real Madrid
France centre-back Ibrahima Konaté is in advanced talks to join Real Madrid on a free transfer once his Liverpool contract expires in June. Liverpool confirmed he will leave at the end of his deal after talks to extend broke down over valuation and wages. The 27-year-old made 183 appearances for the Reds, winning the Premier League, FA Cup and two League Cups since arriving from RB Leipzig in 2021 for £35 million. If completed, Konaté would follow Trent Alexander-Arnold in making a cost-free switch from Anfield to the Bernabéu. Reports say personal terms are close to being agreed ahead of next season.
