NDC Accuses INEC of Denying Access Code for 2027 Candidate Upload Amid Court Showdown

The Nigeria Democratic Congress says INEC is yet to provide the access code needed to upload its candidates for the 2027 general elections. The party formally requested access to the nomination portal but has received no response. This follows a Federal High Court in Lokoja order suspending NDC’s recognition until registration disputes are resolved. The court set aside a December 2025 judgment that had compelled INEC to register the party. NDC’s national leadership insists the ruling does not amount to deregistration. They plan to seek a stay of execution and will challenge the decision at the Court of Appeal. The party urged members to remain calm and continue campaigning. They also encouraged Nigerians to collect their Permanent Voter Cards, reject vote buying, and protect their votes in the next election.
