Troops of Sector 2, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, reportedly foiled an attempted attack on Ugwan Hassan village in Dandi Local Government Area of Kebbi State. Acting on intelligence, the troops set an ambush near a crossing point used by the suspected Lakurawa fighters. The group reportedly retreated after an exchange of fire. Soldiers recovered two motorcycles, mobile phones, communication radios and a Nigerien identity document at the scene. The recovery points to the cross-border nature of the security threat facing communities along the Kebbi–Niger Republic border. Troops have continued patrols in the area while pursuing the fleeing suspects.
