AFCON 2027 Dates Confirmed: Super Eagles to Chase Fourth Title in East Africa

AFCON 2027 Dates Confirmed: Super Eagles to Chase Fourth Title in East Africa — 1 of 2
1 / 2

CAF has announced that the Africa Cup of Nations 2027 will run from June 19 to July 18 in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda. Nigeria’s Super Eagles will kick off their campaign next July as they pursue a fourth continental crown. After finishing third at the last tournament in Morocco, Eric Chelle’s side will be eager to go one better. The Super Eagles are among the seeded teams for the qualifiers, with the draw scheduled later this year. Host nations face mounting pressure as work on stadiums and facilities runs behind schedule. Despite the concerns, CAF remains confident that Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda will deliver a top‐class event.

Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda have never hosted a full AFCON before, so logistics and travel distances could be a real challenge for all squads.

I no dey convinced hosting for Kenya and Tanzania will give our Eagles any real advantage when big teams arrive strong.

The team should schedule high-altitude training camps and friendly matches in East Africa early next year to adjust to weather and travel.
