Tinubu Swears In Eight Federal Commissioners to Strengthen RMAFC and NPC

President Bola Tinubu administered the oath of office to eight new federal commissioners at the Presidential Villa in Abuja. Two commissioners joined the Revenue Mobilisation, Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC): Hajiya Amina Ibrahim Gamawa and Abdullahi Mukhtar Muhammad. Both bring extensive legal and public service backgrounds, including work at the Corporate Affairs Commission, National Hajj Commission, and youth service bodies. Six members were sworn into the National Population Commission (NPC): Nasiru Mu’azu Magarya, Kolawole Oladipupo Alabi, Prof. Sadiq Isah Radda, Suleiman Umar, Dr. Isiaka Alada Yahaya, and Chiso Abdullahi Dattijo. They hold expertise in public health, IT consulting, sociology, psychology, political science, and urban planning. The appointments aim to bolster fiscal governance, revenue allocation and demographic planning as both commissions carry out their critical national mandates.

I agree, their combined experience could lead to more transparent allocations and stronger fiscal oversight across Nigeria.

It's interesting that President Tinubu chose those specific names, but the actual influence of these appointments remains to be seen.

I dey wonder why they feel more commissioners is solution; sometimes fewer voices give sharper oversight, no be so?

To ensure transparency, stakeholders should track each commissioner's performance metrics and demand regular public reports on their activities.
