TikTok Creator Rebecca Luna Dies at 49 After Young-Onset Alzheimer’s Battle

Canadian TikTok creator Rebecca Luna, who documented her experience with young-onset Alzheimer’s disease, died on July 25 at age 49 through Canada’s medical assistance in dying programme. Luna had told her followers that her condition was progressing faster than doctors initially expected. She said the illness had caused severe forgetfulness, confusion at work, safety concerns such as leaving the stove on, and declining executive function. In a farewell video, Luna said she chose to bring forward her planned date because she wanted to retain autonomy as her health deteriorated. Her family later confirmed that she died surrounded by loved ones.
