Fubara: Only God-Fearing Leaders Can Drive Nigeria’s Progress

Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara says Nigeria needs God-fearing leaders to achieve meaningful development. He spoke when he received the head of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, Pastor Erton Kohler, and other church leaders at Government House in Port Harcourt. Fubara praised the church’s investment in education and leadership development. He noted that its two Nigerian universities are nurturing future leaders who combine faith and strong minds. He argued that the fear of God should limit wrongdoing and curb corruption, poverty and crime. He added that secure wages, quality healthcare and affordable housing would reduce social vices and promote stability. Pastor Kohler said he was in Nigeria for a conference to empower thousands of ministers. He also highlighted that the church has over 24 million members in more than 180,000 places of worship worldwide.
