Gbajabiamila Withdraws Support for Desmond Elliot, Alleges Tinubu Warned Him
Femi Gbajabiamila has officially withdrawn his backing for actor-turned-politician Desmond Elliot ahead of the APC primaries in Lagos. Speaking at a stakeholders’ meeting in Surulere on May 14, he announced he would now support Barakat Odunuga-Bakare instead. He revealed President Tinubu personally confronted him over rumours linking Elliot to moves against Lagos Assembly Speaker Mudashiru Obasa. “I hear this Desmond is your boy… Go and tell him to retrace his steps,” Tinubu allegedly warned. Gbajabiamila admitted the crisis nearly cost him his own job. “If not for my relationship with Mr President, I for don lose my job,” he said. This disclosure has ignited debate about loyalty and power struggles within Lagos APC as it gears up for the 2027 elections.
