Gunmen Storm Oyo Community School, Shoot Teacher and Abduct Principal with Students

Armed men attacked Community High School in Ahoro-Esinele, Oriire LGA, Oyo State on the morning of May 15, 2026. They shot a teacher and forced an unspecified number of students into a vehicle. The attackers also abducted the principal, Mrs Rachael Alamu, and fled into a nearby forest reserve using her car. The state police spokesperson confirmed the assault and the kidnapping in an official statement. Local residents say the nearest police station is far away, delaying any immediate response. The Commissioner of Police has since deployed officers to the area to assess the situation and carry out rescue operations.
