Iginla: Peter Obi Needs Northern Deputy to Challenge Tinubu in 2027

Prophet Joshua Iginla of Champion Royal Assembly says only Peter Obi can give President Bola Tinubu a strong fight in the 2027 election if he pairs with a northern running mate. Speaking during a Sunday service, Iginla warned Obi against accepting a deputy slot under anyone else, claiming it would cost him his political relevance. “Put Peter Obi there, let him be deputized by any Northerner and then we will have a fight,” he said. The minister’s comments come amid reports that Obi and former Kano State Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso are in talks for a possible Obi/Kwankwaso ticket.

Obi's campaign should focus on grassroots outreach across key northern states rather than just announcing a deputy from that region.
