Newlywed Corps Member Killed in Jos Reprisal Attack on Eve of Passing-Out Parade
A reprisal attack in Angwan Rukuba, Jos North Local Government Area, has claimed two lives, including that of a National Youth Service Corps member. On Sunday, March 29, assailants struck the Gari Ya Waye community, killing 30 people. Fearing further violence, some residents targeted passersby on the Jos-Bauchi highway, resulting in two additional deaths. One victim, Ibrahim Haruna, had just married and was due to complete his service on Tuesday, March 31. In response to the escalating violence, the Plateau State Governor imposed a 48-hour curfew to restore calm and prevent further attacks.
