Julian Alvarez has reportedly held a private meeting with Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone to discuss his desire to leave the club before the transfer window closes. Barcelona are said to be interested in the Argentine forward, who scored 20 goals and made nine assists in 49 appearances for Atletico last season. Alvarez reportedly told the club that he believes a transfer would be best and that he wants to fulfil his ambition. Atletico, however, insist that Alvarez is central to their plans and is not for sale. The club's stance has reportedly become even firmer following an injury to fellow striker Alexander Sorloth.
