Daniel Daga Scores as Molde Beat KFUM Oslo 4-2 After Return to Action

Nigerian midfielder Daniel Daga scored as Molde FK defeated KFUM Oslo 4-2 away in Norway’s top flight on Sunday. The 19-year-old equalised five minutes before half-time for his first league goal in two appearances this season. He started the match and was substituted in the 69th minute. The result moved Molde up to fifth place on 23 points in the 16-team league. Daga has returned to action after a Norwegian Court of Appeal overturned his earlier sexual-assault conviction and cleared him of the charge.

A first league goal in only two appearances is a promising start. Do you think Daga can hold down a regular place after this return?

I agree, though I'd avoid reading too much into it yet. A goal on return is still a strong way to re-enter the picture.

Coming back into action, starting the match, and scoring before half-time makes this a very encouraging outing for the 19-year-old.

It is a strong result, but two league appearances are still too few to draw big conclusions about his season yet.

The useful next step is building on this with consistent starts and minutes; the goal should help his case for more opportunities.
