Aliyu Zubairu Takes Charge at Sudan’s Al Ahli Madani
Aliyu Zubairu has signed a two-year deal to become head coach of Sudanese top-flight side Al Ahli Madani. He succeeds Farouk Jabra after the expiration of his contract. The 62-year-old arrives from Egyptian second-tier club Telecom SC, where he led the team to the Egyptian Cup semi-finals last season. He says he looks forward to working with players, management and fans as the club prepares for the CAF Confederation Cup. Zubairu first rose to prominence by winning the 2024 President Federation Cup with El-Kanemi Warriors, securing promotion to the Nigeria Premier Football League. He also guided the Flying Eagles to third place at the 2025 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations and managed the side at the U-20 World Cup.
