COREN Inducts 250 UNN Engineering Graduates in Landmark Ceremony
On Tuesday, COREN held its first induction and oath-taking ceremony for 250 engineering graduates from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. Prof Okorie Uche, Registrar of COREN, led the ceremony and urged new professionals to uphold the highest standards of conduct in their practice. He congratulated the inductees on completing the course that qualifies them for professional registration. He also praised their parents and the Faculty of Engineering for investing in their education and ensuring they gained adequate knowledge. In a remark, Prof Simon Ortuanya, Vice-Chancellor of UNN, described the event as a landmark achievement. He thanked COREN and the Nigeria Society of Engineers for their partnership and challenged graduates to reflect the university’s ideals in addressing community and national challenges. Prof Ikechukwu Ike-Eze, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, called the day a defining moment in the faculty’s history. He encouraged the new engineers to continue learning, innovating and using their skills for the betterment of society.
