Former Super Eagles forward John Utaka has praised Akor Adams as the striker prepares to join newly promoted Serie A side Venezia. Adams sealed a €16 million transfer from Sevilla after scoring 10 goals in 33 La Liga matches last season. The 26-year-old overcame early injuries to finish as Sevilla’s top scorer and played a key role in helping them avoid relegation. Utaka spoke about Adams’ decision in a recent interview. “He has been doing tremendously well… I am very happy for him,” said the 44-year-old. He believes consistent playing time in Italy could boost Adams’ chances of leading Nigeria’s attack at the 2030 World Cup.
