Police Arrest Two Suspects With Counterfeit $1,000 in Minna
The Niger State Police Command has arrested two men in Minna on suspicion of possessing fake US currency totalling $1,000. According to the state police spokesperson, the suspects—25-year-old Abba Ibrahim of Angwan-Sarki and 20-year-old Abdulazeez Muhammad of Paiko—were stopped by a surveillance patrol near David Mark roundabout on 22 June. They were riding a Jincheng motorcycle when officers found ten counterfeit $100 notes. During questioning, Abdulazeez said he found a wallet of the fake notes on the ground in Paiko and planned to meet Abba in Minna to dispose of them. Both suspects have been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Minna for further investigation.
