Hamilton Clinches Historic 106th Win with Ferrari at Barcelona GP

Lewis Hamilton ended a 686-day victory drought by storming to his 106th career Formula 1 win at the Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix. It was his first triumph in Scuderia Ferrari colours. Starting from second on the grid, Hamilton used an aggressive three-stop strategy and benefitted from a late Virtual Safety Car to leapfrog his rivals. He crossed the line ahead of teammate George Russell and McLaren’s Lando Norris. The race drama peaked when championship leader Andrea Kimi Antonelli suffered an engine failure on lap 62, triggering the final neutralisation. Hamilton’s milestone also marked the first all-British podium since 1968 and closed his gap to the championship lead to 41 points.
