NBM Members Donate Blood to Support Patients at Plateau Specialist Hospital

Members of NBM of Africa Worldwide in Jos have donated blood to support patients at the Plateau State Specialist Hospital. The exercise was aimed at replenishing the hospital’s blood bank for accident victims, women with pregnancy complications, surgical patients, people living with sickle cell disease and others needing urgent transfusions. Health workers said voluntary donations remain vital because one unit of blood can be separated into red cells, plasma and platelets to help several patients. The group urged eligible Nigerians to donate regularly and support safer blood supplies in hospitals.

The donation is welcome, but hospitals also need consistent voluntary donors so supplies do not depend on occasional exercises.

It would help if the hospital shares clear donor eligibility and schedules, so willing residents can contribute safely throughout the year.
