Bride’s Father and Hypeman Shot Dead by Suspected Cultists at Ikotun Wedding After-Party

A father of the bride and a hypeman known as Victor were killed by suspected cultists during an after-party in the Ikotun area of Lagos State. The assailants stormed the venue on Governors Road shortly after the wedding ceremony ended. They opened fire indiscriminately, forcing guests to flee. Witnesses say the attackers dragged Victor outside, beat him with weapons, and shot him. The bride’s father rushed in to help and was also shot dead on the spot. Local residents believe the attack may be linked to ongoing cult clashes in the community. The Lagos State Police Command has confirmed the incident and said it will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department at Panti for further investigation.
