Anambra Court Remands Sisters Accused of Cyberbullying Lawyer’s Wife
A Magistrate Court in Awka has remanded sisters Vivian and Chioma Igboanusi in custody over allegations of assault and cyberbullying against Mrs Uju Ezeemo, who manages her husband’s properties in Udoka Estate. Prosecutors say the sisters recorded a video of the alleged attack, held Mrs Ezeemo hostage, seized her phone and circulated defamatory content on Facebook, X and other platforms. Defence counsel admitted the posts but argued for bail under the Anambra State Administration of Criminal Justice Law. Presiding Magistrate Nonyelum Anyaegbunam refused bail and adjourned the case to July 28, 2026. Mrs Ezeemo told reporters she was at the property only to guide a court bailiff and denies owing any salary to the suspects, who had been suspended before the incident. Efforts to reach the accused and their counsel for comment were unsuccessful.
