Arise Television presenter Rufai Oseni says the outcome of the Osun governorship election showed that voter determination and grassroots mobilisation can overcome the advantages of federal political power. Governor Ademola Adeleke was declared winner after polling 511,067 votes, ahead of APC candidate Bola Oyebamiji, who received 444,815 votes. Oseni credited voters’ vigilance, especially during collation, as a key factor in protecting the result. He said the election should not be treated as a straightforward prediction for 2027. According to him, political actors may return with stronger strategies, making continued voter participation and election monitoring essential.
