Operation Kosaye: Lagos and Ogun Police Free Five Kidnap Victims, Nab Four Suspects
A joint security operation by the Lagos and Ogun State Police Commands rescued five kidnapped victims unhurt and neutralised four suspected kidnappers during a raid in the Ogbere forest corridor. The Commissioners of Police in both states credited the success to directives from the Inspector-General of Police and strong support from the state governors. They said the rescued victims were freed along the Sagamu-Benin Expressway after a firefight with the kidnappers. Under Operation “Kosaye,” officers have also arrested 84 additional suspects across border communities. The force recovered assault rifles, locally made pistols, ammunition and other exhibits linked to violent crime. One of the freed captives, Jimoh Badamosi, said he and the others were held less than 24 hours and faced multi-million naira ransom demands. He commended the police for their swift action and urged continued efforts to secure forests and highways.
