LASTMA Saves 353 Crash Victims in Five Months, Warns Drivers as Rainy Season Begins

LASTMA Saves 353 Crash Victims in Five Months, Warns Drivers as Rainy Season Begins

The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority rescued 353 people after road accidents between January and May. The agency credited its Rescue and Emergency Response Unit for the timely interventions. The General Manager highlighted the dangers of the rainy season. He urged motorists, commercial drivers and motorcyclists to drive with caution and to follow traffic rules. He warned that poor visibility, slippery roads and flooded sections raise crash risks. Many of these incidents could be avoided through responsible driving, proper vehicle maintenance and respect for speed limits. LASTMA plans to boost its emergency framework with more training, modern equipment and stronger collaboration with other agencies. All road users are reminded to prioritise safety and compliance during the rains.
