French Court Upholds Trial for Achraf Hakimi Over 2023 Rape Allegation

A French appeals court has confirmed that PSG defender and Morocco captain Achraf Hakimi will face trial over a 2023 rape allegation. The 24-year-old plaintiff told police she met Hakimi via social media and accused him of non-consensual conduct at his home. Hakimi, who denies any wrongdoing, said on social media he has been “waiting for this trial since day one” and looks forward to telling his side. No trial date has been set at the Hauts-de-Seine criminal court. Hakimi’s lawyer described the ruling as expected and reiterated his client’s innocence, while the accuser’s counsel said the decision brings her hope and relief. The plaintiff, under the pseudonym Jeanne, told the press she wants her story heard and for people to believe her.

Fans and media can track the trial schedule, review court filings when available, and reserve final opinions until judges decide.
