IG Disu Appoints CSP Anietie Iniedu as Nigeria Police Force Spokesperson
The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, has approved the appointment of CSP Anietie Okokon Edem Iniedu as the new Force Public Relations Officer, three months after DCP Anthony Okon Placid took over the role. A native of Etinan LGA in Akwa Ibom State, Iniedu holds a BSc in Pure Chemistry from the University of Uyo. He completed professional trainings in investigative interviewing, crime scene management, human rights-based policing, strategic communication and intelligence analysis. He formerly headed the Complaint Response Unit at Force Headquarters, Abuja, and served as Public Relations Officer at the Police College of Information Technology in Ogun State. His career highlights include postings in Yobe, Abia, the IGP Secretariat and supervising the Force Headquarters Situation Room. The IG expressed confidence that Iniedu’s experience would enhance strategic communication and public engagement in support of ongoing policing reforms. He succeeds DCP Anthony Okon Placid, who was appointed on March 8, 2026.
