Otas Evbuomwan Faces Backlash Over Alleged Bigoted Posts Targeting Yoruba Women
I’ve followed Otas Evbuomwan, Risevest’s US Operations Lead, since 2013. She claims to fight bigotry, but I’ve saved dozens of her posts where she disparages Yoruba women. She’s reportedly labeled us “animals” and even injected colourism into her remarks. Now, top Yoruba feminists are speaking out. They want skit makers and actors to drop these harmful stereotypes. We aren’t loose, dirty, or carriers of infection. We’re educated, fashion-forward, and proud of our heritage. We care about our health and our culture. My question is simple: what have we done to deserve this? Yoruba women, know who you call your friends!
