China excels in manufacturing, engineering and technology by emphasizing STEM in early education. They combine belief systems with people-focused governance, economic planning and anti-corruption measures. Great nations are designed, yet too often we elect leaders for short-term gains. We sell our resources for instant gratification and wonder why we lag behind. Our government reflects our choices—it’s time to choose planners over promises.
