Nigeria Customs Announces Annual Recruitment, Says 2026 Exercise Will Open Later This Year
The Nigeria Customs Service says it will begin conducting recruitment exercises every year, replacing the previous system of irregular hiring rounds. Comptroller-General Adewale Adeniyi announced the policy while presenting the final list of successful candidates from the 2024/2025 exercise. He said annual recruitment will help the Service replace retiring officers promptly and give job seekers a clearer timeline for future opportunities. The NCS said preparations for its 2026 recruitment exercise are already underway. The process is expected to begin later this year and be completed within the same calendar year. The Service also confirmed that 3,852 candidates were offered appointments in the 2024/2025 exercise, including 1,275 in the Superintendent Cadre, 367 in the Inspectorate Cadre and 2,210 in the Customs Assistant Cadre.
