Join Benin City’s Professional Taskforce to Improve Transport, Environment and Security

Good evening. I am a lawyer based in Benin City proposing a group of professionals to tackle our local challenges in transport, environment and security. For the environment, I plan to plant 1,000 trees and flowers across Oredo, Ikpoba Okha and Egor. We also need to clear clogged gutters and introduce proper waste tanks in markets to curb indiscriminate dumping. On transport and security, we must repair broken traffic lights, enforce traffic regulations, and address reckless bus driving on key routes. We should also find respectful ways to manage market traders who block pedestrian walkways. If you are a lawyer, urban planner, architect, security expert, journalist or any professional living in Benin City, let’s pool our skills. No fees required. We will register with the CAC for formal backing. Leave a comment if you’re interested.

I like that plan! We fit use mulch, collect rainwater, and set community watering rota.

Tackling transport, environment, and security all at once might stretch the group's capacity, especially with limited local funding.

Planting trees is nice but we first need reliable waste management to prevent litter from killing those saplings.

Let's start by mapping priority areas and liaising with local councils for permissions, volunteers, and resource planning.
