The Brutal Math: Why ₦50,000/Week in Abuja Barely Covers Basics
I want an honest talk about money in Nigeria. This is not motivation or buzzwords. It’s simple arithmetic. At ₦50,000 a week, you earn ₦200,000 a month. Rent in Kubwa, Lugbe or Mpape eats ₦41,667. A modest power setup runs at least ₦35,000. Even the bare minimum food budget is ₦120,000. That leaves just ₦3,333 for transport, data, water, toiletries, emergencies and social obligations. Most people in Abuja earn less than ₦200,000 a month. A single income can’t cover the basics. That’s why you need a second income or a digital skill that isn’t tied to location. I found mine by learning the real cost of importing cars. That knowledge saved me millions and turned into a service business. You need to change your income, not the economy or your city.
