Soludo Urges Ndi Igbo to Replace Agitation with Evidence-Based Debate
Professor Charles Soludo has urged Ndi Igbo to move from agitation tactics to evidence-based debate. He sees this as key to addressing the Igbo people’s challenges in Nigeria. Speaking at the Light House in Awka after a stage performance by UNN students, Soludo warned that sit-at-home campaigns often harm the very communities they intend to protect. The governor challenged Ndi Igbo to resolve what he called a “dual-personality paradox”: seeking Nigeria’s highest office while expressing doubts about the state. He stressed the need for open, structured dialogue and negotiation. Reflecting on the Civil War’s impact on his family, Soludo praised the students for reigniting this conversation. He invoked Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe’s politics of constructive engagement and committed to supporting peaceful debate on the Igbo question.
