Dangote Refinery Ships 456,000 Tonnes of Premium Fuel to Five African Nations
The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has exported 12 cargoes totalling 456,000 tonnes of refined products to Côte d’Ivoire, Cameroon, Tanzania, Ghana and Togo. This follows the refinery reaching its full 650,000 barrels-per-day capacity earlier this year. The shipments, sold on a Free on Board basis, equal about 608 million litres of Euro 5 gasoline and diesel. These exports aim to ease fuel shortages in West, East and Central Africa by cutting reliance on long-haul imports and reducing logistics costs. A senior refinery official said this milestone reflects growing confidence in Nigeria’s refining capacity and a shift in the continent’s energy supply chain. He added that domestic needs remain fully covered and the facility is ready to meet rising regional demand.
