Two Nigerians Arrested in Ghana for Killing Compatriot over Internet Fraud Dispute
Two Nigerian nationals have been arrested by the Northern Regional Police Command in Tamale, Ghana in connection with the murder of their roommate, a fellow Nigerian, on July 11, 2026. The victim was found in his bedroom with a deep cut to the forehead, his room ransacked, and a towel in his mouth. Police recovered a wooden pestle believed to be the murder weapon along with mobile phones, laptops, jewellery and other valuables stolen from the victim’s apartment. The body was taken to Tamale Teaching Hospital for confirmation before being moved to the mortuary for autopsy. Following intelligence-led operations, officers intercepted the suspects, Daniel Victor Eze and David Oko Ewa, while they attempted to flee into Togo. During interrogation, they allegedly admitted conspiring to kill the deceased after a dispute over proceeds from alleged internet fraud activities. They remain in police custody and are expected to be arraigned in court to support ongoing investigations.
