At a graduation ceremony held by Kingfisher Private School in Abeokuta, Ogun State, a drug-abuse prevention advocate urged parents, teachers, community leaders and government agencies to work together to keep children away from harmful substances. He said children need safe and supportive environments to learn, develop their talents and make responsible choices. He identified peer pressure, social-media influence and other negative factors as major risks that can expose young people to drug abuse. Parents were encouraged to stay involved in their children’s lives, while teachers and community institutions were urged to provide guidance, discipline and positive mentorship. The graduating pupils were also advised to choose positive friendships, remain focused on their goals and reject drug abuse.
