Katsina Police Arrest Four Over Mob Killing of Trader After Shop Dispute
The Katsina State Police Command has arrested four suspects linked to a mob killing in Kokami village, Danja Local Government Area. The violence followed a dispute between trader Joe (also called KC Jones) and his customer, Ibrahim Auwal. According to police, Joe allegedly stabbed Auwal during an altercation at his shop. Auwal was rushed to Abdullahi Makama Hospital in Dabai but was later pronounced dead. In retaliation, some youths reportedly killed Joe and set his body ablaze along a nearby road. Command spokesperson DSP Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu confirmed the arrests and said security was restored after the incident. Commissioner of Police Ali Umar Fage condemned the reprisal attack, urged citizens to report disputes to the police, and warned against taking the law into their own hands. Investigations are ongoing and further updates will be provided.
