Many Nigerian women feel pressured to depend on men for financial security. While some believe marriage or relationships are the only path to survival, others work hard and value their independence. Men often argue that it’s a woman’s duty to provide emotional support. But when you ask what else a woman contributes, the answer usually defaults to feelings or physical intimacy. One commenter even claimed most women would rather be a celebrity’s wife than become successful entrepreneurs. Although I reject this prejudice, it’s frustrating when some ladies seem to confirm the stereotype. It’s time for women to showcase their skills, talents, and financial independence.
