How Can Temu Offer Free Delivery and Lower Prices When Jumia Can’t?
I recently tried buying on Jumia but the delivery fee was almost twice the product cost. In Lagos and Abuja, delivery fees are usually N500 or N1,000, which is reasonable. Outside those cities, high fees have always stopped me from ordering. When you add delivery to the item price, it costs more than taking a bus to the market and getting the same-day item. Temu sells directly from China at lower prices and always offers free shipping, even to remote villages. My orders take about ten days to arrive, and the delivery person calls me nearby. How can Temu manage cheap prices and free delivery nationwide, while Jumia cannot?
