Lupita Nyong’o Channels Helen of Troy with Breathtaking Press Tour Looks

Lupita Nyong’o Channels Helen of Troy with Breathtaking Press Tour Looks — 1 of 7
1 / 7

Ahead of The Odyssey’s release in Nigerian cinemas, Lupita Nyong’o has dazzled every red carpet. Her press tour looks paid homage to Helen of Troy with ancient Greek–inspired designs. At the New York premiere, she wore a sculpted corset gown from Nicholas Oakwell’s “Goddess” line. She paired it with pearl jewelry and a custom clutch styled like a copy of The Odyssey. In London, she stunned in a black-and-white CHANEL dress at the photocall. For the world premiere she chose a crystal-embellished sheer gown by Christian Cowan. In Paris, she embraced fiery elegance in a Giorgio Armani Privé beaded dress and later in an asymmetrical CHANEL Resort creation. Now showing in cinemas, The Odyssey promises more than epic storytelling. It also marks one of Lupita’s most memorable red carpet runs. Share which of her looks is your favourite.

Absolutely, those fluid draped silhouettes reminded me of classic Greek gowns and really highlighted her regal aura.

While the Helen of Troy tribute is eye-catching, I question if the rigid corset designs limit movement on the red carpet.

I'm not convinced that linking modern gowns to Helen of Troy brings fresh creativity; it feels too classic costume drama derivative.

To emulate these goddess-inspired looks, pick adjustable corsets and lightweight fabrics to stay comfortable during long event days.
