The families of Vivian Chinedu Akabuike, 29, and Ifeanyi Stanley Nwachukwu, 32, have released burial arrangements for the couple who died in the collapse of the Elite 5-Star Hostel in Amaokpala, near Federal Polytechnic Oko, Anambra State. The pair were recovered from the rubble after the 60-room building collapsed on the night of July 26, 2026. Vivian, a baker, and Ifeanyi, a Moniepoint PoS distributor known as Don Cash, were alumni of the polytechnic. Reports said Ifeanyi had visited Vivian at the hostel shortly before the collapse. Vivian will be buried in Owere-Ezukala, Orumba North LGA, Anambra State, on September 12. Ifeanyi's funeral rites will hold in Umuogbonna, Nunya, Isiukwuato LGA, Abia State, with burial scheduled for September 18.
