Mervis Elebe Alleges Okoye Family Opposed Peter and Lola’s Relationship

Author Mervis Elebe says she witnessed the Okoye family’s alleged opposition to Peter Okoye’s relationship with Lola Omotayo-Okoye. Elebe said she met the Psquare brothers in 2008 as a teenage fan and became familiar with their household in Omole, Lagos. According to her, Peter and Lola briefly separated at one point, after which Peter dated a beauty queen who appeared in the group's “Ifunanya” video. She alleged that when Lola became pregnant, Peter chose to support her despite objections from relatives. Elebe claimed the family disapproved of Lola because she was older and Yoruba, and said Jude Okoye’s dislike of Lola was apparent to visitors. The claims follow Peter’s recent allegations that Lola was mistreated by members of his family.
