Army Patrol Neutralises Suspected ISWAP Spy at Banki Border
Troops of the 152 Task Force Battalion under Operation HADIN KAI have neutralised a suspected JAS/ISWAP spy during a night patrol along the Banki border fence in Borno State. Soldiers on the A17 axis observed suspicious movement near the Cameroonian boundary towards Banki town. They saw the individual attempting to scale the perimeter fence to monitor troop activities. Security sources report that troops engaged the suspect as he tried crossing from Cameroon. He was neutralised in the exchange, and a follow-up sweep found no further contacts. Authorities say surveillance has been intensified along the border to prevent infiltration. They add that while the overall security situation remains calm, it is still unpredictable.
