ADC’s GMN Alleges Justice Lifu Favors APC, Warns of Threat to Democracy

The Grassroots Mobilization Network (GMN), an ADC support group, has accused Justice Peter Lifu of the Federal High Court, Abuja, of acting on behalf of the APC and its agents. GMN Secretary General Usman Bala Idris said the case between ADC and Nafiu Bala was deliberately assigned to Judge Lifu to derail the opposition and bar its candidate from the 2027 election. He described this as judicial manipulation for the ruling party’s benefit. Idris warned that any attempt to truncate democracy would have disastrous consequences. He said Nigerians would hold those who “sold their conscience for pecuniary favour” responsible for undermining democratic trust. He urged elder statesmen and the international community to call the judiciary to order, or risk a collapse of faith in Nigeria’s democratic system.
